Hi! I’m Melissa Girimonte, host and producer of Fem TV. I’m a TV critic, freelance writer, digital media producer, and of course, a podcaster. Some of you may know me as my alter ego, The Televixen (@thetelevixen). Back in 2008, I founded TheTelevixen.com, a website that covers TV from a female perspective. My career has taken me to many exciting places over the years, from pop culture conventions and industry events to press junkets and set visits. Over the years, I’ve met some fascinating women working in front of and behind the camera, and wished we could talk more about their careers instead of just one specific project. And that’s what inspired this podcast.
In 2016, I launched Fem TV, an interview series featuring real stories about women working in the TV industry. Created to celebrate women in television, Fem TV aims to inspire, educate, and entertain. Whether you’re a student contemplating a future in television, a woman currently working in the biz, someone contemplating a move into the industry, or a superfan who wants to learn more about their favorite medium, Fem TV is the podcast for you!
